Doomsday Romance

Doomsday Romance

by Teela Biehn

When the ground starts to crumble and nature begins to welt.

When the sky becomes dull and Earth's crust starts to melt.

When the seas begin to rise and our island starts to flood.

When mankind cries tears on our precious skin, bone, and blood.

I will hold your soft hands and we’ll run in the rain.

Pleasure in destruction to mask away the pain.

I will sing with you our song, we can get up and dance.

It sounds so cliche, our doomsday romance.

For now we’ll enjoy the beauties of Earth.

Embrace mother nature for everything she's worth.

I'll buy you delias on the first day of spring

and spend summers at the beach where we kissed on the swing.

In the Fall we’ll carve pumpkins, you can teach me to skate.

Watch the stars in the winter, and stay out far too late.

Remember that Earth may not always be this great.

Don't take it for granted or make excuses to wait.

I will love you until we’re the last two alive, and everyday after while we 18 fight to survive.

Because that's what our dear planet Earth will do.

Till she can be reborn, beautiful and new.
